8th Grade

Goodbye 2016, welcome 2017! The year 2016 was a great start to our growing and learning here in the 8th grade. We have studied the theme of identity through the novels Breadwinner and Milkweed. We have learned more about how our country started after the Revolutionary War, all the way through George Washington's noble farewell. We have experimented with chemistry and modeled different atoms, plus much more.

Looking forward to the year 2017, we have even more to be excited about. The 8th grade students will prepare for their own farewell to The Chatfield School and a new beginning in high school. We will round out our discussion about identity by reading The Outsiders and To Kill a Mockingbird. Our studies on United States history will culminate with a trip to our great capital, Washington D.C., and we will practice citizenship in our community by testing water quality for the Flint River Watershed Coalition.

This is an exciting time in 8th grade, and we are ready. Go Dolphins!
